Cabin 1 is a log style cabin with an
addition that was added on probably in the late 60’s to
accommodate a kitchen and a 3-pc bathroom. It sits on
the far end of the lodge property adjacent to Squaw
Island Channel perched high above the lake with a tremendous
view of West Bay.
The building is rustic but extremely
clean. It provides guests with a feeling of being back
in time in the secluded north. Inside you will find a
kitchen, living room and dinning room area with
cathedral ceiling, 3-pc bathroom and two bedrooms with 3
single bed and 1 double bed .
This cabin is heated by individual
room electric baseboard heater so that you may warm the
cabin up for those cooler early spring and late fall nights and mornings. Please note that this
cottage has hot and cold running water drawn directly
from the lake but is not tested for drinking purposes.
Potable water is available at the lodge store for a fee
or from a tested public outlet outside the main lodge if
you have empty containers at no fee or you may bring
your own.
The closest building to it, not
visual from the deck, is Cabin 2 approximately 500 feet
away. The cabin location provides ultimate privacy and
is certainly one of the favorites from our guest. It has
a (newly constructed in spring 2009) shared dock with Cabin 2 and is able to easily fit up
to 2 private or rental boats. This
cabin is boat access but can be walked to via the 200
foot long suspended bridge. Approximately an 8-minute
walk from the main lodge.
